We don’t often link to other articles here on the news page.  But, this one is worth taking a look.
While TanTrack runs just fine on Windows 10, we do recommend moving to Windows 11. Â For most, it is a FREE upgrade.
However, one of the main benefits of Windows 11 is a new hardware requirement.  This is a major security enhancement that prevents your PC from being compromised at a hardware level.  While it’s super nerdy/techy, it is a big deal.  All new PCs come with this feature built-in.  Older PCs such as those that came with Windows 10 are not as likely to have this benefit.
Microsoft did remove the requirement so that even the older PCs could potentially run Windows 11 but just having Windows 11 does NOT offer the protection. Â The real change was hardware based.
That said, again, TanTrack runs just fine on Windows 10. Â You can also do things for safety such as letting us host your data vs keeping that data on your local PC. Â This keeps your database server up to date with the most immediate security patches applied without you having to do anything. Â In addition, it does a backup of your data every 60 seconds for 7 days rolling.
